It’s been such a warm and sunny autumn that I still can’t believe that the Christmas season is upon us!
I’m involved with a Christmas Open House and I am excited to show many new works! The art show is located at 65 Front Street W in Strathroy ON.

You’re invited to come and see and enjoy a social time mingling with other art lovers!
I hope to meet you!

Below is a new painting, fresh off of the easel!

The sun has been so beautifully putting it’s spotlight on our amazing countryside 💗

“ Rhythm and Blues “

As the cooler winds start to blow, it’s definitely sweater season! I’m loving the sunshine and the colourful cast shadows that I see on the landscape. The Fall hues are so beautiful and the smell of drying leaves and crops gives me a cozy feeling 🤓

I’ve prepared two canvases for upcoming paintings that I’m very excited about. I can’t wait to share my results!

Cheers,

Fran

“ Blushing Glow “

Have a look at the glow on these amazing peonies!
This painting was created in collaboration with my good friend Judy.

I have been contemplating an idea for awhile, where I work independently with another person to create a deeply personal heirloom painting together. They supply me with the ideas and I help them to create a design that they can truly dream about! Because it is an interactive experience, Judy literally was an active participant in the painting process! We were absolutely delighted with the results! The elegance and the colourful harmony along with that amazing glow is a true “ Ah Ha “ moment and a beautiful reflection of Judy.

“ Woodland Wonder “

Fresh off of the easel, another view of a captivating subject. The love of nature keeps me motivated to paint!

”A Chorus is Colour”

Welcome Spring!

I’m excited to be painting some of the most fascinating species in our bush lot on the barren forest floor! Before the explosion of grasses and wildflowers, comes the beauty of nature shining through! As I slosh through the decaying leaves and branches, my eyes are directed to vivid colour and textures in the mosses, algae and fungi growing abundantly around my feet!
I’ve enjoyed painting the most vivid fungi growing in a row on the heavily textured bark :)

I’m in the process of finishing another painting in this series that measures 36”x 36”, coming soon!

Enjoy the sun!

Cheers,

Fran

Rhythm and Blues

A mesmerizing walk through our bush lot in early winter gave me persisting thoughts about the beauty of the light filtering through the fallen leaves and the twisted decaying grapevines.

Especially beautiful were those amazing blue grapes! With a clear mind to have these beauties shine, I created a composition that leads the eye throughout and especially to my focal area, a macro view of those delicate little berries!

Finally winter has arrived here in southern Ontario! The beautiful white scenery is breathtaking. Lots of photo opportunities and walks to the bush to see pops of colour peeking through the forest floor. The lush greens, warm earthy yellows and burnt sienna tones glistening in the sunshine between snow laden areas is simply eye candy!

i’m preparing to create a series of new work and the excitement is building! I’m hoping that you will feel the same emotion in these paintings as I feel about this enthralling subject matter!

Cheers,

Fran
