Fine Art that is Modern, Meaningful and Uplifting

Fran Roelands-Acrylics artist-Visual Storyteller

I've been creating for as long as I can remember.

My inspiration to paint came from adoring my Father’s drawings from a very early age. He passed away when I was four and I feel such a connection to him when I am engulfed in the painting process!

I am continually learning and evolving as an artist, drawn to abstracted realism and fascinating textures that tell a personal story. I’ve had formal training by many outstanding, professional artists at the 1000 Islands school for the Arts in Brockville ON.

When I observe the scene itself, the first thing that happens is that it evokes a feeling or mood within me. It is this emotion that is so important for me to convey and yet the hardest to implement on my canvas.

Although challenging at times, the end result that resonates within me is a sense of complete satisfaction that I have communicated visually to others with my own personal voice.

With my brushes and palette knife in hand, I work at capturing the simple truth in our everyday life that may be overlooked, but tugs at my heartstrings…. be it realistic or abstraction.

Whether it’s the way the sun lights up the landscape or the combinations of colour and textures, I am in awe with God’s creation. Painting is a spiritual experience for me.

My mission statement:

“Create paintings that Enlighten. They are Modern, Meaningful and Uplifting, leaving the viewer to feel a complete sense of peace and happiness when observing my art.”

Among “Best in Show” at Paint Ontario for my acrylic painting “Daybreak”, I have been fortunate to have had many successes showing and selling my work.

Authentically Canadian, my paintings can be found in private and corporate collections throughout Ontario as well as in many countries around the globe as gifts from Canada.

With my husband Matt, we are loving a busy family life and are blessed to live in a rural setting close to Huron’s Lakeshore. I am constantly impressed with artistic inspiration!

Original paintings and Limited edition archival prints are sold at Creamery Road Art Gallery located at 34607 Creamery Rd., Ailsa Craig ON.

What others have said:

Your class at the ACAC was very informative and fun. I enjoyed the fellowship, I am excited to pay attention to your advice on color and techniques and tools. Your paintings are more beautiful in person.

Hi Fran, I enjoyed reviewing your many art works... They are so awesome... I can hear you saying some of those captions you have included with them, and seeing your great smile while you were writing it. I am truly appreciative for receiving one of your pieces, "Our Native Land" presented to me from the Creamery Road Neighbours and friends in memory of Jerry.

I already enjoy having two of your watercolours in our home and love your art work.
